Papa Sol

Papa Sol cannot be beat. Period. We had the absolute best time at our wedding and our guests were blown away. My dad danced and enjoyed himself more than I’ve ever seen in my 33 years of life (including my sister’s wedding :)). We can’t thank Papa Sol enough for the memories they helped us create at our wedding.

I have been combated with texts and calls today about how amazing Elizabeth’s wedding was. It would not have been as epic or legendary (what our friends are saying) without the most incredible band. Papa Sol knocked it out of the park! My husband thinks the bar tab may not as expensive as we planned bc everyone was on the dance floor, and only a few in the bar. The energy was spectacular! We will have the most amazing memories and know will be reminiscing about it for a long time.

I can’t begin to describe the FUN this band brought to my daughter’s wedding reception. They really can read the crowd. We booked only from word of mouth, but not one regret. The crowd was on the dance floor after the cocktail music ended for 2 hrs straight. The wedding party and parents were pulled on stage for a fun game. The words “phenomenal, perfect, best party ever, most fun reception, event of the decade” etc., were how our family and friends described the reception, but I have to give credit to Papa Sol! All band members were so kind and personable, we had fun visiting with them in the “green room”. Their contract specifies certain number of breaks, but honestly, I don’t recall the music ever stopping. Papa Sol brought the energy we were hoping for and most guests dancing. It wasn’t a hot day at all, but the band members were drenched in sweat, which shows the intensity at which they perform. I will forever recommend this band to anyone I can!

Last Saturday was amazing! We changed the format by moving the Gala inside the museum, with the band and dance floor under a tent off our Riverwalk entrance, and a jazz lounge in our downstairs auditorium. The feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive, so I think it's safe to say that a great time was had by all! Papa Sol was absolutely fantastic! I can't say enough good things about their performance and everything they did to contribute to the success of the evening. Shyrod is so friendly and accommodating, and the whole group is extremely talented (but you already know that). They managed to drag me up on stage during "Proud Mary" which was definitely one of the highlights of my evening ?? Everyone I have spoken to absolutely loved the music and the energy that Papa Sol brought to our Gala! Thank you so much for your assistance - I enjoyed working with you as well and look forward to doing so again!

Shyrod and his band could not have been more pleasant to work with in preparation and the night of the event! We have received so many kind thoughts about our wedding, and all have mentioned how fun the band was and how much it contributed to this wedding being one to remember! I'm still blown away by your performance, Shyrod. You guys were better than perfect. You exceeded my expectations, and let me tell you, that is not easy to do. From the way you played our first dance song to the smooth Jazz renditions you did early in the night, your emcee work and announcements, the great rhythm, energy and musicianship, the showmanship of everyone in the band and your own personal energy, you gave us a memory to last a lifetime. You folks are incredibly versatile, great looking and terrific showpeople. You made me want to SHOUT!, and you did, brother! You know, as I told you, one of the concerns I had going in was that everyone would expect me, as a musician, to pick a great band with a great keyboard player. Well, I exceeded my own expectations on both counts. And my beautiful wife Elisa said you were perfect for our wedding, too. I just want to say "thank you so very much" for the absolute best band performance of any wedding I've ever attended! You guys were just fantastic - totally awesome! Everyone had the BEST TIME. It was so great how you had the whole audience involved, and allowed any/all of the wedding party and guests to participate. I have heard over and over again how great the band was! Michael and Brittany had the time of their lives with you on the most special day of their lives, and they have repeated this to me numerous times, even now while they are on their honeymoon. I just wanted to write a quick note to tell you how FABULOUS Papa Sol was at our wedding on Kiawah Island! I was so impressed with their sheer presence and of course the outstanding singing! My entire reception was dancing, singing and having a ball the entire time! They allowed everyone to get on stage, sing and dance with them, including me, the bride! Nothing will make me smile in the years to come, more than the pictures of my friends and family dancing like crazy. In fact, my cousin is getting married in Hilton Head in June and is considering hiring them to play at her wedding as well! Thanks again for everything!

The wedding this past weekend was FABULOUS -- Papa Sol was nothing short of incredible. The crowd of 325 went from the ages of 2 years to 88 years and EVERYONE had fun dancing. They are high energy, engaging with the crowd, happy, and ready to do whatever their client wants to make their event a success. Shyrod is professional; he was on time and did everything he said he would do for our daughter's wedding. The music was appropriate for the audience and was not too loud as so often one finds at weddings or dances. I am embarrassed to just finally be writing you both but I just wanted to let you know just how thrilled we were with Papa Sol for our wedding on December 8th. I have had multiple (like 50+) people ask me who was our band and tell me how much they loved you! I have even had several (both young and old) complaining about the bruises on their own hands from the tambourine!!! A large, fun time was had by ALL!!I have just gotten the pictures back and have loved looking through them seeing all of the crowd interaction and dancing by all.PapaSol was THE PERFECT wedding band for us! I loved having them even more because they aren't the normal "go to" Mississippi wedding band so it was fun livening up the party for everyone!Thank you again for everything! Papa Sol was absolutely fantastic and I apologize for not telling you that much sooner! As you might remember, it ended up pouring down rain all day that day, even though the day before they had predicted a "zero percent" chance of rain and consequently the "rain plan" tents had been cancelled! The bride and groom were devastated but determined to have a good time! They got married outside in the rain. Papa Sol was kind enough to agree to move into the house (we were supposed to be outside in the back yard) and my sister was even kinder to allow us to move all the furniture in her house! Papa Sol was fantastic, even though my son, the groom, was determined to become a singing member of the band! Everyone had a fantastic time, it was a great party, and there were probably over 200 people still there at 11:00 pm! Please pass my appreciation on to the band members and tell them I would be happy to give a testimony for them any time! It was great doing business with you as well. Thanks for everything!
