I cannot imagine how long it took for the band to thaw as although it was a great dancing crowd it was COLD! However, as always, you all make it look effortless and the band was AMAZING and FABULOUS! Shimmer Band was absolutely incredible! This was by far the best wedding band we've ever heard, and all of our guests agreed. From the second they started playing, our guests immediately got on the dance floor and never left. During dinner, they played lighter music and even then, our guests could not stay seated. Shimmer Band has an extensive list of songs they can perform, and without telling them what we wanted to hear, they were able to come up with a setlist that satisfied our guests of all ages, which included people in their 20s up to 80s. They put on a high energy performance during the reception that impressed all of us. They are incredibly professional and were a pleasure to work with. I am so happy that we chose Shimmer Band for our wedding, as they made our night unforgettable and incredibly fun - THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Your performance was excellent in every way!! Your music and vocals during the first set while we dined was perfect. We were able to converse well during that time. You then encouraged everyone onto the dance floor so well after step-father/daughter dance! I think that was my first time working with Shimmer, and it was wonderful. They were excellent with prompt replies to communications, and were very friendly and personable. As you can imagine, the end of the night is always challenging with moving drunken guests to the exit. The lead male vocalist was the BEST assistance I've ever had in 12 years in repeatedly announcing over the mic that everyone needed to move swiftly to the exit. The absolute best wedding band I have ever heard! Shimmer is all our friends can talk about. Everyone had a blast dancing the night away. They were so friendly and fun and more than we could have ever hoped for! Someone ripped their pants from dancing so much...if that's not the sign of a fun wedding I don't know what is!

Oh my gosh. Shimmer was the HIGHLIGHT of our reception. We had never heard them play in person and chose them solely based on their sizzle reel (and because we thought they were a great value) - decent-sized ensemble and good variety in their music for a fair price. They BLEW US AWAY. I would recommend them 1,000 times over and have shared their name with so many of our guests! Every single time a guest talks to us about our wedding, they always mention how great our band was! We obviously thought they would be good or we wouldn't have hired them, but their ability to read the room, play music the crowd was feeling, and just generally KILL IT was astounding for the price. I did not want the night to end! I absolutely recommend Shimmer for any wedding or event, you will not regret it!!!!

WOW! Shimmer was by far the best vendor from my wedding. Not only were they amazing and timely with communication, they were able to customize songs and preferences for my father/daughter dance. Jay was a pleasure to work with! They also allowed our best man to play the harmonica with them on stage to "Piano Man". My venue, The Omni Hotel, immediately wanted to hire them for future parties. Choosing a band was one of the most important decisions we made for our wedding day and we could not have been happier that we chose Shimmer! Seriously, I spent 4 hours watching youtube videos of band demos and made excel comparison files of song lists. Trust me when I say you will not regret hiring Shimmer! Jay was great to work with leading up to the wedding and Shimmer knocked it out of the park at our reception!!! 10 out of 10 times if we had to make the decision over again, we would go with Shimmer! Our family and friends are still talking about how much FUN our wedding was. The entire night the dance floor was FULL! Shimmer totally made our reception! We can’t say enough about how awesome this band is and how easy and professional they were to work with. They played through dinner and then got the party started. My husband is a musician and one of our guests asked the band if they'd let him play a couple of tunes, they were so accommodating and gracious to allow him to use their equipment and interrupt their set so he could get up and have some fun. The Shimmer Band was fantastic! We received compliments all night regarding how great the band was! Jay was a fantastic communicator and even created a mix of our favorite dance songs to play during the intermission. Per my request, Shimmer cranked the volume of the dance mix up so it really was a continual dance party all night long, even during the breaks. The band was very entertaining and involved the crowd a lot, which we loved! Show stopping performances included 'Rollin on a River' and 'Shout.' Beyoncé's 'Crazy Right Now' was fantastic as well and probably my favorite! We added the two extra horns which were well worth it! Jay also provided uplighting for the stage area and lighting around the stage. It was just an overall awesome night!

What can I say????No one wanted to leave the dance floor, including me.....ONLY complaint is we needed a larger dance floor....I wish you could see photos.....we had a stage and dance floor built to accommodate the band.( dance floor was 576' and we could have lengthened it by at least half).Over 600 people and the majority stayed close to dance floor.We would highly recommend "Shimmer" to anyone... We just absolutely LOVED Shimmer!From the second that we walked into the reception Shimmer was setting the mood for the evening. They professionally knew what lower key songs to play while guests were arriving and eating. During that set, they kept the music and ambiance upbeat while at the same time stayed in the background.Every song they played was amazing! The band kept picking it up a notch as the evening progressed. The first song of the 3rd set, we had requested Sweet Caroline for the bride whose name is Caroline. The band blew it out! It was a highlight of the entire wedding weekend. From that point on, I don't think anyone left the dance floor. When they played Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, everyone thought it was Bruno on the stage! All of our friends are asking for Shimmer's information and if they travel to Houston, which is where we are from. We requested a song that was not on their song sheet for Caroline and Stephen's first dance - The Best of My Love by The Emotions. They learned the song and it was unbelievable! I wish I could post a video of their first dance - they LOVED it!I could go on and on. The lead singers and all the instrumentals were absolutely the best! This band could go on tour! Jay made the whole process so easy as far as picking the songs and assuring me that the evening would be flawless - and it was! When they ended with Shout, my only regret is that it was over.I cannot thank Shimmer enough for making our daughter's wedding reception such a huge success! Band's can make or break a reception. Interacting with the bride and the other guests was just wonderful - I know that everyone had a great time out there dancing. Thankfully, I was back up at the lodge when Ryan was being hurled through the air...a memory was made for many with Shout!Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t take credit for booking Shimmer; my son made the arrangements. And I am so glad he did because I can’t imagine how anyone else could have been better. To begin with, his wedding was at our old country home. We did everything we could to put lipstick on a pig and it showed, but the highlight of the evening was Shimmer. When they arrived, they could not have been more professional or pleasant. Everything about the set up was easy for us and then they were off to a little house on the property where the bride and bridesmaids were staying for a little quiet.They began on a low key as they learned the crowd and what to play to keep the dance floor full. That didn’t take long and the rest of the story is they were just fabulous. They played long sets and took short breaks. They raised the tempo as the night went on and finished on a peak. What a band!Since the wedding we have had conversations with many of our guests. To a person, they have all praised Shimme... They are the best! Thanks for having them on your roster. They create happiness.

Shimmer was everything I expected and more. They are true professionals and easily won the crowd over. Even today I am still receiving comments on how great the band was. My niece wanted to know if they could get Shimmer for her wedding in San Antonio Texas!!! I said "don't know but I can give you their number!!" What a super band with super musicians and top shelf singers. Words fall short.

I just want to let you know that Shimmer Band was absolutely fantastic on our wedding night. In fact, they were far better than even we expected and perhaps the best band I've ever seen in a party-type atmosphere. They did a fantastic job of mixing up hits from yesterday and today, the band itself and the additional horns sounded great, and the vocals were spot on all night. Our guests danced from start to finish and numerous commented on the band's overall quality. They absolutely played a major role in making Sara and I's wedding the best night of our lives, so thank you again.

Debbie gave me your email address. I am the Father of the Bride. I am so thankful to you and the band. They were spectacular. The variety of music and the quality of the product were unbelievable. They were incredibly tight and the sound was great. Even more, they were so courteous to all. As the night progressed, they got better and better. They did not mail it in. They seem to feed off the crowd and the total effect was awesome. I have been to so many events where music and dancing were a cursory thing. Maybe the relative younger age of the crowd helped. But I think it was the band. "If you don't love this, you must be dead" is a comment I heard. They played their ass off and for one really appreciated the smiles and enthusiasm they displayed. WOW!!!! what a great band. Both my husband and new son-in-law want to write reviews on the band, so I will let those two do the honor. I will say, I have never had so much fun!Being new at having a wedding reception, I was so fearful of how things were going to turn out. We were extremely happy with Shimmer. They were so much fun and they energy kept the party going. Very accommodating and we were very pleased. You were all so responsive when dealing with questions on last dance,etc and we appreciate the efforts given to make Brittany and Lake's night so special. They had a blast!!' Several people were so excited that we has shimmer playing as they had heard them at other functions. Nice sign when they remember the name if the band. ! wanted to take a minute to write and tell you how much we enjoyed having Shimmer perform at our wedding on September 21, 2013. Everything went wonderfully. The band members were so nice and accommodating. Jay was such a pleasure to work with throughout the whole planning process for the big event. We were so happy with Shimmer's performance and they were by far my favorite part of the reception. I don't think there was a single person who wasn't dancing, and their music was so upbeat and definitely kept the crowd going. Just wanted to follow up on my previous note now that I have had time back from my honeymoon. Shimmer was unbelievable. They had great showmanship which is imperative to a successful reception but on top of that they're sound was unreal. I have received many compliments from friends and family and will be sending all friends who come to me your way with Shimmer recommended.On top of their performance, Jay was so great to work with. This past Saturday the SHIMMER BAND performed at the wedding reception of our son and his new bride! We can't stop talking about it! The band made for the most fun evening we've experienced at a function. The quest were out of their seats and on the dance floor. Even the pastor and his wife were dancing! We have attended many wedding receptions, but have never seen so many people having such a great time at one event! We didn't want the evening to end. Now we have to find another event in which we can call on the SHIMMER BAND to make our evening a success. They're music, style and and performance was fabulous! We highly recommend this band and promise you will love it!

They were great! Everyone loved them and had a great time! They got out in the crowd and really got them going! I did not want anyone "staying seated at their table" for the whole night which is why I really wanted a band, and they accomplished my goal for sure! Everyone danced the night away and I thoroughly enjoyed them as I think everyone did! They played a well rounded bit of music (something for everyone) and accomodated my request of Brown Eyed Girl when I asked for it so they get an A+ from me!!! I am thrilled to tell you about them! WE COULD NOT HAVE HOPED FOR A BETTER CELEBRATION LEAD BY SHIMMER MUSIC!! They were all professional and personable. Jay went out of his way to craft the playlist exactly to suit our ideas. There were musically superb, brought incredible energy to the dance floor, and interacted with everyone in a way that was engaging but not over the top. They absolutely met all of our expectations and actually far exceeded them. We got numerous enthusiastic comments about how great they were from all ages present. I also want you to know that Jay brought extra PA equipment and the group spent a little extra time helping provide sound support for the area where the ceremony was held. While he and I had talked about this in advance, he was cheerful and willing and this was outside of the requirements of the contract. I would give them the highest possible recommendation and would be happy to provide any more testimonials you might need. Lauren and Denton are on their honeymoon but I know everything I have said speaks for them too. Thanks for checking in. I only hope I have a chance to hire them again sometime.

I wanted to write you back and tell you how much fun we had with Shimmer at the Vandever wedding on June 25, 2011. The band was everything we could have asked for. They were true professionals. The evening flowed as well as it could have. They did a good job of letting the party come to them as the night progressed, then once everyone was ready, the band totally won the crowd over. We are very happy with our decision to use Shimmer and would recommend them to anyone thinking of using a band for their reception. Our crowd was about 50/50 young to old, but from the looks of the dance floor, everyone was having a blast. They played a wide range of music like we requested so there was something for everyone. We were impressed with their musical talent as well as their ability to interact with the crowd. The musicians were very talented and the singers were very versatile. We just wanted to take a minute to thank you personally for all of your hard work and performance during our 15th Annual Gala. The event was a great success, and we've received much positive feedback from the attendees. The music was perfect and the musicians were adored by our guests. They brought a fantastic amount of skill and energy to the performance and, as evidenced by our guests' requests for an encore, were entertaining well into the end of the evening.
