Sid Davis’s unique and infectious humor was shaped in his youth by watching legendary comedians like Red Skelton, Johnny Carson, and Garry Shandling.
In his late 40s, Sid retired from an airline career and ventured into comedy. Although he initially faced age barriers, he capitalized on a big break.
In 2012, the prestigious San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival needed a last-minute replacement, and Sid was offered the slot—a spot he’d previously been passed over for. In true “Cinderella Story” fashion, Sid was voted “Best in Fest” by festival audiences! He received the same honor from SLO audiences the following year. And then…the next year, too!
Shortly thereafter, Joan Rivers saw a clip of Sid’s performance, called him a “Walking Sit-com,” and promptly hired him as her opening act.
You’ll agree with Joan that Sid Davis transforms everyday events into comic mayhem!
